I decided to look up some recipes (annabel karmel)coz she seem to have lost interest in porridge. And it was a success on this one! Try it if you can!
Vegetable and Cheese Pasta Sauce
(makes 3 portions of sauce)
3/4 cup carrot, peeled and sliced
heaping 1/4 cup broccoli florets
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3/4 cup milk
scant 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, grated
steam the carrot for 10mins then add the broccoli florets and cook for 7 mins more. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a small saucepan and stir in the flour to make a thick paste. Add the milk, bring to a boil and stir continuouslyuntil the auce thickens. Simmer for abt a minute. Remove from heat and stir in grated cheese. Add the cooked vegetables to the cheese sauce and blend to a puree. Serve with cooked pasta shapes.
